The Church of St. Olaf is located in Sysmä and it was built during the first two decades of the 16th century. The church is built of grey stones and bricks.
The church has undergone many changes and repairs throughout its 600-year history. The greatest external change was made in 1833 when the church was converted into cruciform plan according to designs by Carl Ludwig Engel.
The church of St. Olav in Sysmä is definitely the most popular attraction in Sysmä. During the summer the church has its own guide and it is open to public from 11am to 5pm.
