The Päijänne–Ilves trail starts from Padasjoki Marina and forms a connection to the Evo Hiking Area. The scenery of the trail is pleasantly diverse including villages, forests, swamps and dry peaty forests. From Evo hiking area it is possible to continue to the other trails of the area.
The highlights of the trail are Tuomasvuori observation tower near the Padasjoki Marina, Frans Josef Pond´s nature reserve area and forest brooks and ponds.
The difficulty of the trail is considered medium and it takes about 3-5 hours to walk the trail. There is one lean-to shelter along the way.
