Address: Kaikulantie 86, 19600 Hartola
At Kuninkaanpolku, Hartola, you will experience an interesting combination of the area's natural and cultural diversity. See trouts swimming in the clear water of the rapids from the arched bridge of Ekonkoski, relax on the path in the Finnish forest and walk calmly over the swaying suspension bridge to the wonderful milieu of the Museum of Itä-Häme to get to know the diverse history of the area.
The trail can be started either from Linna Hotel or from the Museum of Itä-Häme. When starting from the Linna Hotel, you can enjoy the fine ambience of the old buildings of Itä-Hämeen Opisto college, from where you walk along an idyllic countryroad towards the arched bridge over the clear-water Tainionvirta and Ekonkoski rapids.
From the bridge, continue on the road until it turns right into the forest. Along a clearly marked path through the forest, you can experience the peatland forest landscape and even give your feet a soothing peat treatment. After the forest section, the route follows the edge of the field to the sports field, from where a suspended bridge leads over the Tainionvirta river to the wonderful milieu of the Itä-Häme Museum. After exploring the fine museum area, you can continue to the monument of the old church of Hartola. From the monument the route deviates for a while back towards the shore of Tainionvirta, until we reach Kaikulantie, which magnificent birch trees lead back to the starting point.
From the link below you can download the map of the path. The path is marked in red on the map. The trail runs part of the way along an unobstructed, shorter Ekonpolku trail, marked in blue on the map.
