Address: Kirkkokuja 1, 19700 Sysmä
Medieval church built out of granite and bricks.
It has experienced many changes and repairs throughout its 600-year history depending on the demand of a certain era. The greatest external modification was made in 1833 when the church was turned into a cruciform church, following the blueprints of Carl Ludwig Engel. The church of St. Olav in Sysmä is undeniably the most popular traveling destination in Sysmä. During the summer the church is open from 11am to 5pm and provides a guide to the visitors.
