Johan Richard Danielson-Kalmari (1853 - 1933) was the leading Finnish historian and also an important Finnish politician of his time. In 1892, he bought a real estate called Suviniemi (‘Summer Cape') in Vääksy, Asikkala, where he spend all the summers with his family. Today, the neo-Renaissance style villa is both the Danielsson-Kalmari Museum and a summertime art exhibition room.
