Virtaa Manor was built in the late 1790s and is part of the valuable cultural landscape in Sysmä. It is located by the river Tainionvirta. The partly two-storey Virtaa Manor is known for its amazing ceiling paintings. At the moment it is owned by the fifth generation of the same family.
The mansion offers a memorable and festive setting for family parties, meetings and other daily events. Virtaa Manor offers manor and cottage accommodation in a beautiful cultural and historical milieu. Distance to Sysmä municipal center is 7.5 km and to Lahti 63 km.
ACCOMMODATION IN THE MANOR
Rooms blue and red, are unique guest rooms furnished with antique furniture. The specialty of the rooms are the original ceiling paintings from the end of the 19th century made with frames and decorative strips on the paper-lined ceilings of the rooms.
The green room, the little room and the big room are all atmospheric rooms for two people on the upper floor of the Manor. If necessary, you can get 1-2 extra beds in the big room, which is the biggest room upstairs. There are two bathrooms located in the corridor for shared use by the guests.
VIRTA VILLA, 2+4, 25 m2
VirtaVilla is a cottage built 2015. Cottage is in use from early spring to late autumn (accommodation capacity 2+4). The cabin is located in the beautiful river scenery of the Tainionvirta River. The cabin has a well-equipped kitchenette, sleefing loft with a fireplace and a comfortable wood-heated sauna with its own entrance. In addition, in the same terrace area there is a 9 m² sleeping shed and a wooden shed. The cottage has a large, approximately 40 m² terrace area for the guests. There is no running water in the cabin. No animals are allowed.
VÄENTUPA, 5+3, 80 m2, 2 bedrooms
In warm Väentuva you can stay in a beautiful manor milieu. The well-equipped cottage building of about 80 m² is available for rent year-round (accommodation capacity 5+3). The renovation of the cabin was completed in the spring of 2018. Animals are not allowed in the house. Väentupa is an old building with a large living room with kitchen and two separate bedrooms. The house also has a bathroom, sauna and indoor toilet. The fireplace brings warmth and atmosphere to the room. There is a wooden patio in front of the cabin. There is also a hot tub on Väentupa patio, which can be heated on request for a separate price.
The swimming spot in Tainionvirta is right at the end of the birch alley, about 100 meters from Väentuva. Perfectly suitable as a summer place for, for example, a family with children. Next to the house is the Manor's playground.
SAUNA COTTAGE, 2, 25 m2, kitchen
A small, atmospheric sauna cabin on the banks of the Tainionvirta River offers a peaceful place to stay for two people. The cabin was renovated in 2016.
The small sympathetic sauna cottage with electricity located on the riverside of Tainionvirta is an old-fashioned charming cottage without modern comforts. Sauna cottage has a small fireplace, a wood-heated sauna and a breathtaking river view. There is no running water in the cabin and there is a outdoor toilet in the yard.
