The Ski Museum is located in the Sports Centre, close to the ski jumps, only a short walk from Lahti city centre.
The museum tells the story of the Lahti Ski Games and the Nordic World Ski Championships held in Lahti from the 1920s to the present day, through interesting exhibitions on the history of ski sports.
The great media projection tells the vividly the story of the Lahti Ski Games and the Nordic World Ski Championships held in Lahti from 1920's to 2010's. Sweat, Determination and Heroes exhibition covers the golden era of Finnish skiing from the 1950s to the 1970s. The exhibition invites you to follow the top skiers’ journey from strenuous training to international competitions.
The snow-castle-like exhibition space also houses the Nordic Ski Hall of Fame Gallery. High-Flying Finns special photographic exhibition presents the history of Finnish ski jumping from the 1920’s to the 1990’s. The exhibition also displays the Olympic and Nordic Ski World Championship medals of the ski-jumper Matti Nykänen. The exhibition’s evocative black-and-white pictures and humorous captions tell an impressive story. Jump aboard on a flight of emotions!
