Paakkolanmäki Iron Age settlement is located in the Ahtiala city district.
The site is currently maintained by grazing. Paakkolanmäki is listed as a regionally valuable landscape.


Several archaeological excavations have been conducted in Paakkolanmäki from the 1980s until 2009. In these excavations archaeologists have found the remains of several buildings, as well as typical Iron Age pottery and glass beads. The settlement has been in use from the 4th century to the Middle Ages.
