During this round-trip you can experience the best of Helsinki and Finnish Lakeland in sustainable way! The suppliers included in the program highlight ecological sustainability and specifically address climate change, yet also consider social sustainability. Most of them already has a certain eco-certification (Green Key, Green activities label, Nordic Swan Ecolabel, Sustainable Travel Finland label) or they fulfil other specific criteria like Helsinki Marketing’s Think Sustainably criteria.
Arrival in Helsinki and transfer to Helsinki City center either by community train or Finnair Airport Bus. Accommodation in centrally located hotel, which has a Green Key certificate.
DAY 2 SUSTAINABLE HELSINKI REGION
After breakfast, it is time to explore the city independently. Tips include sights, shops and restaurants, which have joined to Sustainable Travel Finland program for achieving Sustainable
Travel Finland Label or fulfil Helsinki Marketing’s Think sustainable criteria (kindly ask the full program with tips for the supplier.).
DAY 3 SUOMENLINNA FORTRESS - UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE OR VISIT AT NUUKSIO NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, visit to Suomenlinna Fortress. Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Finland. Suomenlinna’s appeal lies in its history, sights and maritime environment. Together with its stakeholders, the Governing Body of Suomenlinna has created a sustainable tourism strategy that serves the dual objectives of site conservation and tourism development. Suomenlinna also has Sustainable Travel Finland Label. Suomenlinna fortress can be reach with a ferry, which leaves from the Market Square. The ferry company also emphasis sustainability at its operations.

DAY 4 FINNISH LAKELAND / LAHTI - EUROPEAN GREEN CAPITAL
After breakfast, it is time to take a train to Lahti, The European Green Capital 2021. Accommodation in centrally located hotel, which has a Green Key Certification and Sustainable Travel Finland Label.
Time to explore the European Green Capital, which provides a stunning setting in which to enjoy nature at its freshest and purest! Head to Salpausselkä Geopark—formed by the last Ice Age—that is currently applying for a UNESCO Global Geopark status. You can choose from two options (included in the package):
• Guided E- fatbike tour - ecological way to explore Salpauselkä area
• Guided two-hour walking tour “Traces of Ice Age”
Later on, you can pop by at the Lahti harbor that has been completely transformed from a heavy-industry port into an oasis for Lahti’s residents and tourists alike. At the harbor area you can also explore Kariniemi and Olavi Lanu Sculpture Park - consisting arboretum and massive sculptures which blend into the scenery. This is an important recreational area between central Lahti and the shore of Lake Vesijärvi.
City also offers great opportunities for sustainable shopping (Rautatienkatu shopping street) and local food!
DAY 5 FINNISH LAKELAND / JYVÄSKYLÄ
After breakfast, transfer by morning bus to Jyväskylä. Accommodation in centrally located hotel with a Green Key certification. The entire Jyväskylä Region takes part to Sustainable Travel Finland program, which gathers under one label all the tourism operators that are truly committed to sustainable travel also in the Jyväskylä Region. After arrival, free time to explore the city and its sights by foot and enjoy delicious meals at restaurants serving food made from local ingredients.

DAYS 6 - 7 TAMPERE
Transfer by train to Tampere. The City of Tampere has made a strong commitment to implement and promote ecologically, socially, culturally and economically sustainable policies in the city. Accommodation in Green Key - certificated hotel, which is located nearby the train station.
