Lahti City Hall is located in the center of Lahti. City Hall is a well-known landmark and an important part of the cityscape of Lahti. Lahti City Hall is designed by the renowned architect Eliel Saarinen. The building, completed in 1912, represents the Late Art Nouveau, or Jugend, style.
More than a century old, this building, damaged over the years by the wars and fire, has been restored to its former glory. City Hall is the bub for decision-making in Lahti, housing the functions related to the city's governance and development.
This historically and culturally important building also serves as the setting for the City Council and City Board's meetings, while around 60 people work on the premises full-time.There is also a lunch restaurant Tyrmä on the basement floor. Guided tours are available on order.
